Editorial policy

This site takes advertising money from the same industry it reports on. That is a real conflict of interest, and the only useful response to it is to say exactly where the line is and then hold it.

The line

These are never for sale, and no amount of advertising spend changes them:

  • Payout percentages. The measured percentage of spot a buyer pays is reported as measured. A business cannot pay to have its figure raised, softened, or removed.
  • Licence status. Reported as the state register shows it. An expired or missing licence is shown as expired or missing.
  • Ranking by data. Where listings are ordered by a measured figure, advertising does not move a business up that order.
  • Removal. A business cannot buy its way out of the directory or out of an unflattering but accurate figure.

What advertisers do get

Clearly labelled placement: banners, and featured positions that are marked as paid wherever they appear. Every paid unit on this site carries an “Advertisement” label. If you cannot tell whether something is paid, that is a bug — report it.

Paid placement never removes or reorders the organic listings around it.

Claimed listings

A business owner can claim their listing to correct factual details — hours, phone number, services, licence number. Claiming a listing does not give the owner control over the payout figure or the licence status shown on it. Corrections to facts are welcome; edits to measurements are not accepted from the party being measured.

How we measure payout percentages

Payout figures are collected by comparing an actual offer against the melt value of the same item at the spot price on the day of the offer. Every published figure carries its measurement date, and the site will not publish one without it. The full method is in our methodology.

Measurements are repeated over time. An old figure is either refreshed or marked as old — it is not left on the page pretending to be current.

Automated articles

The daily gold price report is generated automatically and is labelled as such. Its numbers come from our own recorded price history. Everything else on the site is written by a person.

Corrections

Errors get fixed as soon as they are verified, and a correction to a published figure is noted rather than made silently. Email osamamarketingsa@gmail.com with what is wrong and, if you have it, the evidence.

Not financial advice

GoldHub publishes price data, calculations and directory information. It does not advise you to buy, sell or hold gold, and it is not a licensed financial adviser. Decisions about your own property are yours.
